About the Summit
​
The V​​oices of the Diné: Bridging Science, Culture, and Community in Genetic Research Summit is focused on increasing understanding and awareness around genetics and genomics, related research, and future possibilities for Diné and Indigenous peoples nation-wide. There will be opportunities for all attendees to learn, give voice to their perspectives, and participate throughout. We invite researchers, policy makers, clinicians, trainees/students, community members, and the general public to attend.

The Summit will feature speakers from the Navajo Nation, research programs working with Diné people, and the National Institutes of Health, as well as stories from patients and their advocates, and open discussions about the impacts of the moratorium on genetic research on the Navajo Nation, and advancements and changes in science and policy.
Dates: Thursday, May 29th from 9AM - 7 PM and Friday, May 30th from 9 AM - 4 PM Mountain Time
A pre-summit workshop for invited trainees and students will also be hosted on Wednesday, May 28th.
